What makes it beard balm
Beard balm has to do two jobs at once: soften coarse hair so it lies down, and settle the skin underneath so it stops itching. Most beard balms are mostly wax and oil sitting on top. This one is built on beef tallow, whose fatty acid profile is close to what your own skin makes, so it absorbs instead of sitting there. The beeswax gives it enough hold to tame a beard without turning it greasy.
New beards itch because the skin under them is dry and nobody is treating it. That is the part tallow fixes.

People buy it for a beard and then use it on cracked working hands, windburn, cracked heels, cuticles, kids' dry patches and healed tattoos. Indiana winters are hard on skin and this holds up to them.
